BSc Creative Computing  
 

This new distance learning programme is unique as it gives students skills in designing computer applications as well as using them. It will enable you to express your own creativity and give you the knowledge, confidence and ability to act as creative professionals in the computing, media and arts industries. This degree will equip you with the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to act as a creative autonomous professional in the computing and cultural industries.

Course Duration: 36 Months

Syllabus
The Degree consists of 3 levels that are divided in 11 units plus the compulsory project.

BSc structure:

Semester 1
Four compulsory full units:
  Mathematics for computing
  Introduction to Java and object-oriented programming
  Introduction to computing and the Internet
  Creative computing 1

Semester 2
Four compulsory full units
  Database systems
  Programming: advanced topics and techniques
  Software engineering, algorithm design and analysis
  Creative computing 2

Semester 3
Three compulsory half units:
  Human computer interaction
  Advanced creative computing 1
  Advanced creative computing 2
Plus three half units chosen from the following:
  Artificial intelligence
  Neural networks
  Software engineering management
  Mathematical techniques of operational research
  Accounting information systems
  Information systems management
  Decision support and executive information systems
  Electronic commerce
  Data compression
  Computer security

Plus a compulsory project
Entrance requirements
Applicants Minimum Age should be 17 at the time of registration.
GCSE/GCE 'O' Level (Minimum B Grade) in Mathematics and English language or equivalent undergraduate courses.
Applicants should have fluent comprehension and writing skills in English.
