The qualification has two pathways -
Adults & Children and Young People. To obtain this
qualification a total of 8 units must be completed for
each pathway, 4 core and 4 optional units.
Core Modules (Generic)
Use and develop methods and systems
to communicate, record and report.
Contribute to the development and
maintenance of healthy and safe practices in the
working environment.
Take responsibility for the
continuing professional development of self and
others.
Core Modules (Children and young
people)
Develop practice which promotes the
environment, well-being and protection of children
and young people.
Core
Modules (Adult)
Develop practices which promote
choice, well-being and protection of all individuals
In addition candidates will have to choose 4 more
modules (Children and Young People pathway) and 4
modules out of 43 (Adult pathway and Generic Units).
Entry
Requirements
Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Care.
Substantial relevant working
experience in management and supervisory positions.

Portfolio building
External assessment

This Course equips an individual to work
confidently as a senior care assistant in care Homes
such as Nursing Homes, Residential Homes, Hospitals as
well as domiciliary care settings.
