COURSE STRUCTURE

The qualification has two pathways - Adults & Children and Young People. To obtain this qualification a total of 8 units must be completed for each pathway, 4 core and 4 optional units.

• Use and develop methods and systems to communicate, record and report.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of healthy and safe practices in the working environment.

• Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and others.

Core Modules (Children and young people)

• Develop practice which promotes the environment, well-being and protection of children and young people.

• Develop practices which promote choice, well-being and protection of all individuals In addition candidates will have to choose 4 more modules (Children and Young People pathway) and 4 modules out of 43 (Adult pathway and Generic Units).

• Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Care.

• Substantial relevant working experience in management and supervisory positions.

The results are assessed by:

• Portfolio building

• External assessment

This Course equips an individual to work confidently as a senior care assistant in care Homes such as Nursing Homes, Residential Homes, Hospitals as well as domiciliary care settings.
